LEAGUE: Will consist of 3 divisions of 5 teams (15 total
teams). This year, 12 teams, 3 divisions of 4.
PLAYER DRAFT: You can draft 19 players in any combination of positions
that you desire. A random process will determine your turn in the draft, and the
order will "flip-flop" each round.
PLAYER POSITIONS All players may only be used at their designated CFSL
positions. I will need to do research to find out the position of any players
not on the draft list.
ROSTER LIMIT: 19 players with no injured reserve. (Except the protection
leagues have 1 spot for IR.)
SCORING: CFSL hockey is based on actual NHL performances. Each player
will be awarded ONE point for each goal and ONE point for each assist. Goalies
will score as follows: 5 pts for a win, 2 pts for a tie, and 0 pt for a loss.
One bonus point for a shutout. Negative 1 pt. for each goal allowed.
TEAM SCORING: Each skating position (LW, C, RW, D) gets scored for 9
games per week. Goalies play 4. Let’s say for example that you’re starting 2
LW’s play 3 games each in a given week. That means you have a total of 6 games
at LW so far. You still need 3 more games. So we go to the first backup. If we
assume that player appeared in 4 games that week we would take his total
fantasy points and divide by 4 to get an average per game and then multiply by
3 since that is how many games we still need. If that player only played 2
games then we would score your second backup for 1 game. This type of scoring
guarantees fairness in comparing scores each week.
INJURED RESERVE: We will only have one spot for injured reserve in the
protection leagues only. Once that player plays a game, you have 1-week grace
period to take that player{s} off the IR or they will be waived.. The player must be out for a minimum of 8
weeks on a report from a well-known source. (ESPN, CBS sportsline, Hockey News
etc). 6-8 weeks will not qualify. The 1-year leagues will not have an
IR.
TRADES: ALWAYS FREE. Team owners contact each other
regarding trades. Once a trade is agreed upon, BOTH owners must call in (email)
the trade! If the trade is confirmed on the transaction report (Saturday
afternoon), owners may use the new players starting with the next lineup call
in Monday. Multiple deals are allowed
but must be fair. The Commissioner has the power to veto any trade judged to be
unfair or not in the best interest of the league. Trades between friends and trades between contending and
non-contending teams are very very closely scrutinized.
You can receive no more than four (4) players in any given week via trade.
There are no conditional or "if" transactions!!!!
TRADING DEADLINE: Friday, January
11th, 2008 10:00 AM Pacific Time
FREE AGENTS: Always free. Any player not on a
league roster is a free agent. Every week you may sign one and only one free
agent. If two or more teams request the same player, his rights will go to the
team with the worst record, or total points if tied. You must remember to make
room on your roster before a free agent may be signed, either by trade or
waiver. You may list up to a maximum of five (5) free agents per week. If you
do not get your free agent, your waived player will remain on your roster. Once
a player is waived he is a free agent and cannot be signed until the following
week.
SCHEDULE: The league will consist of 15 teams in three 5-team
divisions (12 teams this year). You will play 1 week in division followed by 2
weeks out of division. (1 week each against the other 2 divisions)
PLAYOFFS: The three division winners (seeded #1 - #3) and the next best
five teams by record (seeded #4 - #8) will make the playoffs. All playoffs will
be 2 weeks unless specified differently.
Tiebreaker to make the playoffs is total points scored, then head to
head for the year. Tiebreaker during
the playoffs for teams tied is highest weekly team score, then individual
scorer for either week, then the next highest individual scorer etc.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: In the first round of the playoffs, the team with
the higher seed will earn a 1-point HFA(starting 2008-2009) each week. In the
semi-finals, the team with the higher seed will earn a 1-point HFA. If the
higher seed's record is less there will be 0 HFA!
TEAM OWNER NOTES: Once you email your lineup or transaction, you may NOT
change it. However, with regards to transactions, you may add trades or free
agent picks if you originally left less than five players.
>With regards to free agents, please use first and last names and team
names.
>Lineups must be separate from transactions.
>Leave your lineup in the order on the call-in sheet. Left Wings and
backups, Centers and backups, Right Wings and backups, Defensemen and backups,
and Goalies and backups.
>Remember, there are no conditional or "if" transactions.
>These leagues are for fun. They were not setup to see which team owner
could rip off another team owner in a trade. I do not enjoy it when I must veto
a trade. Remember quality over quantity.
