Player Draft: You will draft up to 12 players in any combination of positions that you desire. A random process (drawing a card) will determine your turn in the draft. The first round will be 1 to 15. The rest will be 15 to 1.
Player Positions: All players may only be used at their designated CFSL positions. The draft list is the first priority for positions. Players not on the list will be given a position from the Sporting News Pro Basketball Magazine.
The players listed as F/C or G/F may only play one of those positions each week.
Roster Limit: Each team may carry up to 12 players, and up to 3 players on Injured Reserve.
Injured Reserve: A maximum of 3. We are using a couple of recommended sites to check your player’s status. If it says ‘out indefinitely’ or out at least 2 weeks, than YES you can put that player on your IR. If it says ‘day to day’, than NO. If it says that player will return around a certain date, than that must be at least 2 weeks away. If you are not sure, check with me first.
Once that player comes back and plays in his first game, you have a 1-week grace period to take that player{s} off the IR or they will be waived. Also called IL (Injured List).
Scoring: Your team’s score is based on actual NBA performances. Each player will receive ONE point for each point, rebound, assist, blocked shot, and steal. NEGATIVE 1 pt. for turnovers. Your team’s total score will be compared to that of your weekly scheduled opponents. A win is awarded for every team your team outscores, a loss for every team that outscores you. If you tie, the team with the HIGHEST individual player score wins.
Your forwards and guards play a total of 330 minutes per week and your center 180 minutes. Ex.) Let’s say your starting center plays 140 minutes in a given week. You would still need 40 minutes from your first backup center to make a total of 180 minutes.
If your 2 starting
guards or forwards play less than 330 minutes, we would go to your backups in
order to make up the difference. Sometimes
you need two backups because of injuries or NBA teams playing 2 games in a
week.
Starting Lineups: Every owner will set their weekly starting lineup: 2 forwards, 1 center, 2 guards; and up to 3 backups at each position. All lineups must be received by Monday, 10:00 A.M. pacific time.
If you do not send in your lineup, your previous week’s lineup will be used.
Trades: Always Free. Team owners contact each other regarding trades. Once, a trade is agreed upon, BOTH owners must email the trade to me! If the trade is confirmed on the transaction report (Friday Evening), owners may use the new players starting with Monday’s games. Multiple deals are allowed but must be fair. The Commissioner has the power to veto any trade judged to be unfair or not in the best interest of the league.
Trades between friends and trades between contending and non-contending teams are very very closely scrutinized.
YOU CAN RECEIVE NO MORE THAN FOUR PLAYERS IN ANY GIVEN WEEK. THERE ARE NO CONDITIONAL TRANSACTIONS!
Trading Deadline: Thursday, February 05,2009 10:00 a.m. pacific time.
Free Agents: Always Free. Any player not on a league roster is a free agent. Every week, you may sign one and only one free agent. If two or more teams request the same player, his rights will go to the team with the worst record, or total points if tied.
You must remember to make room on your roster before a free agent may be signed…. either by trade or waiver.
You may list up to a maximum of 5 free agents per week. That way you will get a player. If you do not get your free agent, your waived player will remain on your roster. Once a player is waived, he is a free agent and cannot be signed until the following week. There are no conditional or ‘if’ transactions allowed. Transactions are due by 10 AM Pacific Time Thursday.
Schedule: The league will consist of 15 teams with three 5-team divisions. You will play 1 week in division followed by 2 weeks out of division (1 week each against the other 2 divisions).
Playoffs: The three division winners and the next best five teams,
by record, will make the playoffs. The
division winners will be seeded #1 thru #3 by record. Seeds #4-#8 will also be seeded by record. The tiebreaker to make the playoffs is in
order; total team points, Head-to-Head record,
Best record in-division, Most points in-division games.
All the playoff rounds will be 2 weeks.
In the playoffs, A tie is broken by first, highest weekly team score,
and then the highest individual scorer, next highest etc.
Home Field Advantage: In all matchups except the finals, the team with the higher seed will earn a 10-point HFA each week. If the higher seed’s record is less there will be 0 HFA.
Team Owner Notes: Once you email your lineup or transaction, you may not change it. However, with regards to transactions, you may add trades or free agent picks if you originally left less than 5 players.
When you call in, please speak up and use first and last names and team names.
Lineups must be separate from transactions .
Leave your lineup in the order on the roster: Forwards and backups, Center and backups, and then Guards and backups.
These leagues are for fun. They were not set up to see which team owner could rip off another team owner in a trade. I do not enjoy when I must veto a trade. Remember quality over quantity.
