LEAGUE: Will consist of 15 teams, 3 divisions of 5 teams each.

ROSTERS: Each team can carry 28 players on it’s roster during the entire CFSL season.  You will draft 25 players and fill the remaining 3 spots via free agents and/or trades.  The protection leagues will have one IR position if player is on 60-day DL or out for 8 weeks OR LONGER!  You must put the player on your roster first before you can move him to your IR.

TRADES:  Always Free.  Team owners are free to contact each other regarding trades.  Once a trade is agreed upon, BOTH OWNERS must call in the trade.  A trade is official when both owners have reported it to the league office (voice mail or email) AND it then appears on the weekly transaction report.  These acquired players may then be used in the upcoming weeks games.  Multiple-player deals are allowed but if this leaves you with more than 28 active players on your roster, you must make room on your roster for the trade to be processed or the trade will be voided.

The CFSL Commissioner reserves the right to veto any trade when collusion between owners is obvious (or strongly suspected) or when the trades are judged to be too one sided.  This is YOUR league, and CFSL only wants to provide fair and equitable competition for each and every owner.
Remember, for the protection league, whenever you acquire a player he is put on your active roster, even if he came from a team that had him on their IR.

FREE AGENTS: Always Free.  Any player who is not on a team roster is a free agent.  Each team owner may sign ONE free agent per week during the regular season.  If two or more owners request the same player in the same week, the team with the worst record will be awarded the player.  If those teams all have the same record, the next tiebreaker is total points scored by each team for the year.  THERE ARE NO CONDITIONAL TRANSACTIONS!

POSITION CHANGES: All players may only be used at their CFSL positions.  First priority for positions is the CFSL Draft Sheet, then the commissioner decision after doing research on the player.

SCHEDULE: Each week you will play either 4 In-division games or 5 Out-division games.  At the end of the week, you will be awarded a win for every team you outscore that week, and a loss for every team that outscores you.  For example: In division, you score 245.   Your opponents score 240, 255, 235, 249.  You win 2 and lose 2 for that week.

In case of a tie, the team with the highest individual scorer will win the game.  You will play 1 week in division followed by 2 weeks out of division (1 week each against the other 2 divisions.)

WEEKLY LINEUPS: Each team must submit a weekly lineup that consists of 1 Catcher, 1 First Baseman, 1 Second baseman, 1 Shortstop, 1 Third Baseman, 3 Outfielders, and 1 DH (any hitter not used in your starting line-up.), 6 Starting pitchers in order of starting preference, and 1 Relief Pitcher.  Also, you can give at least 1 backup at each position to assure that you get your 7 games at each position (21 games for Outfield since there are 3 starters).  No backup pitchers.  When submitting your lineup, please list changes only if all you have are a few changes from the previous week.

The CFSL Baseball week runs from Monday to Sunday.

SCORING SYSTEM:  All starters must play 7 games per week.  If not, your backup will be used to cover the difference.  If your starting Catcher plays 5 games, your backup catcher would get his fantasy points for 2 games by taking the total fantasy points divided by total games played multiplied by 2.  You have 3 starting outfielders therefore you need 21 games at that position.

Each Run Scored + 1 pt.                  Each RBI      + 1pt.

Each Single         + 1 pt.                   Each Steal     + 1pt.

Each Double        +2 pts.                 Each Walk     + 1pt.

Each Triple         +3 pts.                  Caught Stealing  - 1pt.

Each Home Run   +4 pts.                 Each Error           - 1pt.

PITCHING:

Pitching Win      10 pts.                   Save             6 pts.

Complete Game   2 pts.                   Strikeout      1 pt.

Pitching Loss      -3 pts.                   Inning pitched  1 pt

Shutout               5 pts                     Earned run allowed   -1 pt.

If any player appears in a box score, it counts as a game played.

Pitching rules:  Only the first 6 pitching games will count for the starters.  For example, if the first 3 pitchers in your starting rotation each pitch twice that week, that would be your 6 games.  The relief pitcher will get all his points per week.  A relief pitcher is any pitcher who is not a starter.  If you put a relief pitcher in as a starter and he appears in 6 games in a given week and he is your first pitcher, you would only get points for that pitcher.  You cannot use a starter as a relief pitcher.

If one of your starting pitchers makes a relief appearance, that will count as a game played.

If you only need one game from your last starting pitcher and he pitches 2 games that week, the total points accumulated by him will be added and than that total will be divided by 2 to get the fantasy points per game average.

PLAYOFFS: A total of 8 teams will qualify for the playoffs.  The 3 division winners and the next best 5 teams by record.

Round 1: #1 seed vs. #8 seed;  #2 seed vs.  #7 seed etc.   The higher seed gets 10 pts HFA (Home Field Advantage) each week.  If the higher seed has a worse record…NO HFA.   2 week total score for each round of the playoffs.

Round 2: Highest seed vs. lowest seed   etc…2 weeks total score. HFA for this round is +6 pts each week.

You can change your lineup each week just like the regular season.

CHAMPIONSHIP:  Two remaining teams (No HFA), 2 weeks total score.

TIE BREAKERS: For playoff qualification, total points for the year.   For playoff games, highest weekly score, then highest individual scorer, 2nd highest individual scorer etc.

NOTES: (1) You can receive no more than FOUR players in any week via trades.  You can trade away any number of players.  TRADING DEADLINE: THURSDAY, JULY 03, 2008,  10:00 A.M. PACIFIC TIME.

(2) OWNERS WHO NEGLECT OR ABANDON THEIR MAJOR LEAGUE TEAMS, FOR WHATEVER REASON GREATLY REDUCE THE ENJOYMENT AND COMPETITION OF THE REMAINING TEAMS.

(3) Please come prepared to the draft with players numbered in order of how you would draft them.  If you use the sheet I furnished, it will make it a lot easier to keep up with what players are still available.  Just highlight the players drafted.  This will also leave you with a perfect free agent listing for future signings.

(4) Transaction calls must be separate from lineup calls.

(5) Once you email your lineup or transaction, you may not change it.  However, you may add to your free agent list (up to 5), or add trades.

(6) Please send your lineups only in the order on the roster sheet: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, DH, P, RP.

(7) The team that gets the best player in a trade almost always gets the best of the trade.  Take time to analyze what the trade does for the team that you are trading to.

(8) You must use First and Last names when calling in trades, free agents, and lineups.  That way there will be no confusion.  If you make a mistake in your lineup like listing the same player twice at two positions, I will not do anything with those positions.  They will remain the same as the previous week.  I will not try and guess what you meant to do.

(9) If you only have two players at a position, you do not have to give me the backup obviously.

(10) If you move a position player to DH, and the following week you want to move him back to his position, you have to tell me that by putting him in your lineup.  I cannot analyze your rosters.

(11) WHEN SENDING YOUR LINEUPS (PITCHERS), PLEASE NUMBER THEM IN ORDER…. e.g.) #1 Roger Clemens, #2 Woody Williams, #3 is Tom Glavine etc etc; Up to six maximum.

(12) Do not forget the relief pitcher.  Again, you cannot use a starting pitcher as a relief pitcher.  In that case, you will score 0.

(13) Lineups are due by 10 AM pacific time Monday and transactions are due by 10 AM pacific time Thursday unless otherwise noted.
